Alias Punch

BIO

The members of Alias Punch inhabit the cracks and crevices of the music-ridden, bus-stop town known as Orlando. The 3-piece set consists of Dusty Mondy (bass/lyrics/vocals), Jasper Bleu (guitar/backing vocals),  and Arkie Jay (drum/backing vocals/multiple percussion instruments). Their 1st album, "Alias Punch," was released in December of 2008 and includes 11 original tracks as well as 1 Bill Monroe cover.  The song themes include mind exploration, dimming relationships, lost friends, workplace depression, politics, cautionary tales, and the band's love/hate relationship with their hometown.

The majority of the well-known venues in Orlando have hosted Alias Punch shows, including Backbooth, The Plaza Theatre, Stardust, The Peacock Room, The Social, Will's Pub, and The Copper Rocket. Amidst these shows, the band played a north and southeast tour in the summer of 2009. This trip had AP playing cities including Cincinnati, St. Louis, New York, and Asheville.

Alias Punch's latest release, a 7" EP called Hyperborea, is out now through Glowmobile Recording Company.

"All 3 of us have a relentless ambition that tickles us during the sleepless hours of the night and the grueling monotony of everyday life: self-expression. We don't like to take any certain approach to music writing, other than enforcing complete creative freedom. In short, melodies come to us and we share them."
